Hudson Docs

Connective Tissues and End of Signs, together the Hudson Docs series, work in parallel to tell a story about the Hudson River from different perspectives delineated by changes in voicing, relationships to time, and representational strategies.

These pieces are structured to disrupt a chronological, single-perspective narrative retelling of history. The structure functionally critiques habits of popular narrativizing: complexities simplified, details left out, and threads of persistent implications not traced.

Documentation of live performance of both pieces below, End of Signs is available on CD-R from No Rent Records with an accompanying booklet on the background, compositional language, process, and scores.
